Caleb Giggles and Crawls

Caleb has been making progress in crawling and sitting. And he's always giggling!
I think here he's impersonating a lion! "Roar!"

And this is his very second sitting on his own!
He gets very excited whenever he does it.

Caleb giggles over having fun with Daddy and Aunt Kirsten with Grannie Clare in the background. Caleb giggles over any word that has the "EE" sound in it.

Here Caleb "crawls" toward us filming him.

Having Caleb has greatly increased the joy we have in our marriage. I had great fun making shepherds pie and yeast rolls and cookies with Caleb for Daddy. I put Caleb in my baby sling and explained what each step was and Caleb paid surprisingly close attention until he fell asleep! Then when he woke up we drove to get Daddy at work and I had so much fun telling Caleb how lucky we are in having a man who is the head of our household who loves God and takes care of his family. I believe it is very important to sing Felipe's praises in front of Caleb. Too often we've seen in sitcoms and in real life where the wife does not respect her husband. This is sad and does not bring glory to God. I hope to always love and respect my husband so my children can see what a wonderful man he is! This brings glory to God and sets a good example. I love you, Felipe!

Favorite Memory - Gaby

Gaby! It's your turn!

This was a long time ago. Gaby was visiting the states and was still learning how to count. She was living in England at the time and wasn't quite sure about the difference betweens pounds and dollars.

My mother was talking with Gaby about how many dollars Gaby had. "One dollar plus one dollar plus one dollar is how many dollars?" My mother asked. And Gaby said that she didn't know because in England they use pounds. So my mom explained that it didn't matter what you were adding together, it could be blocks, one plus one plus one is always three. Gaby now understood and added, "Except for cheetahs." My mother, perplexed, asked why. "Well because they are just so fast that you can't count them."

Too cute.

I've had lots of fun with Gaby over the years despite her living on another continent most of the time. She's beautiful and fun, and I think she looks like my aunt Kathy.

This is her diva shot:

She could be a super model if she wanted to be. Love you, Gaby!

Favorite Memory - Miyoung

I love my cousin, Miyoung. Not only is she absolutely beautiful, she's also absolutely fun.

When we were both about 7 years old, she came to visit me and my family in Florida. She came packed with the normal pjs, shorts, shirts, seaweed...wait, that's right. Seaweed. It was dehydrated and laid flat like bread and to serve it she put it in the toaster. It was a bit too salty for me. Also, instead of pouring her cereal she picked it up with her hands from the box and dropped it her bowl. That was weirder than seaweed to 7-year-old-me. But she still remained super cool.

Along the years, she and her mom introduced me to sushi and other Asian cuisine. And one day I hope to go on a cousins tour with her where my little family and her soon-to-be little family go to Korea (where she's done a lot of living, and where her fiance is from).

With the birth of my super-cool, half-Japanese cousin, so was born my love for all things Asian. I just love Korea, Japan, India, Viet Nam, Cambodia, all those wonderful places. And I think it is because of her.

A couple of years ago we were in Virginia Beach and had a lot of fun together again. And then for my wedding she gave me a pair of beautiful earrings that make me think of here every time I wear them! She's the best. I wish you had a super-cool cousin like Miyoung too!

The End.
