More Baby Creations!

First, I made a couple more onesies. I think they're adorable:

Then I got down to business and finished the baby book. I ironed everything and cut the materials and laid out how things ought to look when they are finished, and pinned the center where the joining stitches needed to go:

Then I surged the edges. There are a few ways to make the pages. I could have turned the pages right sides facing each other and then sewed them and turned them back right facing so no edges showed. I also could have stuffed the pages with some foam or stuffing. But I decided to go with the surged edge because of how neat it looks and interesting it feels. I didn't do any stuffing because I didn't want the book to be too thick.

This is the entire book:

The best part is the back cover that says "A Germ Cell Production". I thought everyone knew what germ cells where but apparently it is not commonly known. So follow this link to get educated! This book is an abbreviated version of my original because the original was too long for a cloth book. The original was complete with me being quite sick:

I feel so accomplished today. It is so much fun to have a baby. Felipe was commenting to me how having a baby right away has kept us from becoming too selfish. He was saying that because we're having to share everything with Caleb now, we aren't able to get used to a life with just the two of us for the next six years and then have a child when it's convenient. In stead, we've left creating babies to the Creator and allowed him to create as he has chosen. We have faith that God is not going to create something he doesn't want. He has given us free will and we have freely chosen to allow God to reign in our lives. It is comforting to know that children are from God and not from sex. Yes, he uses sex, but how many times do people have sex compared to how many children they have? How many people simply aren't able to ever have babies? And then there was that one time when that girl got pregnant and she didn't even have ANY sex! (remember...?)

Baby Onesies!

Recently I've been working on a special project for Baby Caleb. I bought him some onesies from Babies R US.
I have two different kinds here. Both are Carter brand. One is cute short-sleeve, the other is super-cute no-sleeve. I got them to be 6 months size because it feels like Caleb is going to be a big baby.

I ironed the onesies after I cleaned them.

Then came the very fun part: figuring out what to put on the onesies! I've been working on this part for weeks now, but we only just bought the paper to transfer the images. At first we went to Jo-Ann's and it was such a traumatic experience that I cried (I know it's just hormones). We finally found the right stuff for much cheaper at Wal-Mart. It's Avery brand transfer paper. The associated website is no good though.

I started with Calvin and Hobbes.

And then I just made more and more...for a total of 6:

Two were the same Calvin and Hobbes hugging (one on short sleeve, one on no sleeve). The 6th and final one is my favorite because it shows Daddy Lion with little Caleb Lion:

Here's a close-up of the verse:

I also have a couple more projects that I'm working on for him. Hopefully I'll finish the book by tonight and be able to share by tomorrow. My other project is super secret...

Trip to the Mall

Felipe and I have had such a wonderful Spring Break so far...and it's only Tuesday! I think just being in Arlington makes us happy, so anything we do on top of being in Arlington will put us over the top.

Yesterday we went to the mall and walked (or waddled) around. It was wonderful being able to be with my husband with no agenda or purpose other than enjoying each other's company. Being able to enjoy one's spouse, I think, should remind us to stop and simply enjoy God's presence too with no agenda, no urgent need, no whining, just enjoy his presence. (I don't mean to say that we shouldn't also go to God with our needs etc.)

One of the first stores we went into was Earthbound.

At this store I always find some of the neatest eastern trends. Once I found these wrap-pants (which are still there) and I went home and made my own pair! Yesterday, they didn't have the ones I wanted in the color I wanted. They did have some very pretty scarves...and Saris! I've never owned a real, authentic, genuine sari before. And Felipe bought it for me!

This is me modeling the sari. I only have my pants and a tank top with me and it is a chilly morning (50F outside) so I have a jacket on (65F inside). But it still looks SO pretty!

(obviously, the time stamp on my new camera is a bit off)

One thing I LOVE about Arlington, UTA, and Euless is all the Indian culture. It's the best. There is simply not a more beautiful culture.

Also Felipe was able to buy a new wedding band there too. It's beautiful. And you'll never believe how much it cost, so I won't tell you.

After we went to Earthbound, we wandered a bit. And eventually found a PHOTO BOOTH! But it wasn't working. So we took our own photos:

My camera died. I don't like posting without pictures. I feel handicapped.

Felipe bought me a new one though:
It's coming in the mail!

Enjoy this music while you wait...
